| Comment | Interior part of the seal is designed as an eight petal lotus flower with a round center. The symbols inside the petals and the center cannot be recognised in this seal due to the lack of sharpness. Dawson comments (p.23): "Red ink seal used as an outer seal by the Regent, late 19th century. The design shows a floral arrangement in the centre surrounded by eight smaller designs, abstract and animal." Note that the seal Dawson shows has a sun and moon symbol inside the outer rim at the top middle and so does the seal described by Ou Chaogui & 'Jigs med (p. 83) |
