Dawson, Some Tibetan Seals Illustrated and Described, p. 7: …used as Inmost Seal on personal correspondance…This personal seal is said to be the scarcest of all the Dalai Lama seals and to have been the original possession of Sanggye Gyatso, the Regent of Tibet following the death of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama in 1682.
