D. Dawson, Tibetan Seals, p. 10: Black ink seal of the Kashag, …The seal dates from the inception of the Kashag in 1728 during the early stages of the Chinese overlordship under Emperor Yung Ch'eng. The square seal was used as the inner seal on documents. This seal exists in several copies (Schuh mentions three versions (p. 17)), each slightly different from others, esp. regarding the third column (i.e. comp. to ID 250: 0594e_AA_1_1_51_Seal). Note that here next to the main outer rim, you have three rim lines inside, whereas in the black version of the seal there are only two (ID84: 0427e_KHD_S70_23-24_11-12_2_Seal). As Schuh mentions (p. 17) three versions of this seal may have existed. |
