Further comments Decree transferring various weight of crops, received as income of the rented fields? (bogs-khal), houses and other properties (sa-zhing khang ri-klungs kyi dbang-ris) to Drung-sman khang-pa's and bKra-shis bzang-po's paternal uncles. Houses and properties were listed in the regions lCang-ma, Yu-'og, rTsa-brgyad, Tshag, 'On-mda', sKyer rgyal gsum, and sBrang-yul, belonging to Ngag gi dbang-phyug bkra-shis grags-pa rgyal-mtshan who claims that the houses and properties were received as reward for his services “zhabs-tog bsgrubs-pa'i mtshar-dga' brten-gnas. When they were transferred, they were exempted from all great and minor taxes and duties that should be paid. TAL identified the document as having been issued by Ngag gi dbang-phyug grags-pa rgyal-mtshan. According to this name he should be the 5th ruler from the 'phags-gru sde-srid lineage. However, according to personal name Ngag gi dbang-phyug bKra-shis grags-pa rgyal-mtshan and the title “kon-ding gu shri chen”, “hrang-vang” and personal names sPyan-snga rin-po che and Zhang-po don-yod rdo-rje rgyal-po from the rin-spungs side were contemporary with the 10th ruler of 'phags-gru sde-srid Ngag gi dbang-phyug bkra-shis grags-pa rgyal-mtshan. He was apparently granted a title “kon-ding gu shri chen” in shing-glang 1565, by the Emperor TA-ming hri-tsung cA-ching and three years later he seemed to have issued this decree. Beginning of document is slightly damaged. Seal with Chinese script. There are two cloth seal covers at the beginning and end of the letter. Author refers to predecessors who issued a similar document for Drung-sman khang-pa called “gtan-khra shel-tham (she-bam?)”. Also the terms of gtan-'khra phye-yig ('byed-yig?) and “gtan-khra dmar-nag” were seemingly used in the document, which is especially interesting for its terms of taxes and duties.
